The footpath ends at a steep flight of steps which lead us to Ashfield Parade. I take Matti up them. Once at the top we find a generous verge offering panoramic views of the river. We walk on-lead until we reach a sign marking the boundary of the City of Bassendean – a convenient terminal for a truly five star walk.
