No 3, Tranby House.
The Tranby House Walk takes in on-lead and off-lead areas as it wends along the Swan past
historic Tranby House, through the Maylands Boat Yard and on to Clarkson Reserve.
There are various signs that this was once a popular recreational area, although the
foreshore beyond Tranby House has fallen into neglect in recent years. Today, however,
the development that has spread through the Peninsula Road area is threatening to
reclaim this land too.

We begin the walk at DeLacy Reserve, a generous, well kept, although relatively featureless exercise
area that can be accessed from Richard Street off Peninsula Road. There are enough trees
skirting the oval for Matti, our Staffi/Kelpie thruster, to eventually find a stick.
Clenching it tightly she shakes her head vigorously from side to side, so as to rap her
branch sharply across my shins in her usual manner before charging off into the unbridled
spaces.
Matti drops obligingly for a treat at De Lacy Reserve
