From the boatyard onwards the terrain takes on the best of both doggie worlds. To our left, the river is flanked by intimate sandy beaches, perfect for belly cooling (or more) on a hot summer’s day.

To the right, wide grassy spaces punctuated by mature trees send Matti’s heartbeat racing for the chase. Irresponsible handlers have been known to slip the lead and send their charges all a-frolic.

The green opens to a generous, sheltered informal exercise circle beyond the Maylands Tennis Club
